睡蓮、同時に花芽4つ

4年前からはじめた睡蓮と蓮。この睡蓮は漬物容器で栽培している株。同時に4つも花芽が出来たのは初めてじゃないかな。今年は植え替えをしていないので、この後ちゃんといっぱい咲いてくれるかな。9月下旬には睡蓮の季節も終わる。

グラスゴーの川に巨大な蓮の葉が浮かぶ

スコットランドの建築家集団ZM Architectureがグラスゴーの街のためにエコなエネルギーを提案しています。蓮の葉型のソーラーパネルです。街を流れるクライド川に巨大な蓮の葉のような丸いソーラーパネルを浮かべようというのです。日中太陽の光を浴びて街に電力を供給します。また、見た目の美しさも魅力。もともとインターナショナルデザインアワード「陸地と海」部門で優勝したこのアイディアですが、なんとグラスゴーの市議会は小さい規模でのテスト導入を検討中。実現する日は意外と近いかもしれません。

蓮の葉

蓮の葉が出てきた。この頃の蓮葉は浮き葉で立たない。
夏の大きい立ち葉も好きだが、出始めの小さな浮き葉は
どれも虹色で、真ん中の紋章が光り輝く様は、
全く普通ではない。蓮は花も、葉も、その立ち上がる様も、
泥炭、その中のレンコンも、夫々全てが尋常ではない趣がある。
仏教系がそれを象徴としているのもよく分かる気がする。
